I was lucky enough to be invited to House of Fraser’s Beauty Confidential event in Glasgow last week, and I had an absolutely fantastic time.
It’s been a wee while since I’ve been to an event as I took a (fairly unintentional) break from blogging a few years ago and as a result I was a tiny bit nervous. I shouldn’t have been though because everyone was lovely and it was nice to finally meet the people behind the blogs!
When I arrived I was shown to Hugh’s Champagne bar where I was given a glass of champagne (hard to turn down a midweek treat – especially as I was so good last month!) and I got the chance to have a chat to some of the other bloggers invited to the event. We were then taken to a Laura Mercier masterclass in the board room.
I have to admit, I’ve not used many Laura Mercier products, but I’ve always heard great things about them. So it was great to see some demonstrations and see the products in action. I even volunteered for one. The second Mikee Becman, a fantastic Laura Mercier makeup artist, said he could give us Kylie Jenner lips my hand was in the air!

To achieve this he used the Laura Mercier Anti-Feathering Lip Pencil in Natural Lips, the Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Biscotti and the Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Cosmic. My lips have never looked so full! For a full tutorial on this look head over to see the gorgeous Laura at A Life With Frills.
Apologies for the terrible selfie – but you get the idea!
After the masterclass we all headed down to the main event in the beauty hall, where there were demonstrations at the counters and cocktails from the Tennent’s Training Academy (who knew beer cocktails could taste so nice?). I made a cheeky purchase at the Laura Mercier counter (I couldn’t leave without that lipstick – review coming soon!). We were also sent away with a very generous goody bag.
Thank you so much to House of Fraser for inviting me to such a fantastic event!
